Image Compressor

Shrink JPG, PNG, and WebP images directly in your browser with full quality control.

How it works

  1. 1Drop or pick an image (JPG, PNG, or WebP).
  2. 2Adjust the quality slider and optional max dimension.
  3. 3Compare before / after, then download the compressed file.

Use cases

  • Shrink photos before emailing or uploading
  • Get images under platform upload limits (under 1 MB, etc.)
  • Convert PNG screenshots to lighter JPG or WebP

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The image never leaves your device.

Which format gives the smallest files?

WebP usually compresses 20–35% better than JPG at the same visual quality, and supports transparency. JPG is the most compatible for older platforms.

Does compression lose quality?

Lossy formats (JPEG / WebP) trade quality for size. The slider lets you pick the sweet spot. PNG is lossless but typically larger.
