What formula does the calculator use?

P = ΔP × Q, with ΔP in pascals and Q in m³/s. 200 bar (20,000,000 Pa) × 0.001 m³/s (1 L/s) = 20,000 W = 20 kW.

Why is real pump power higher?

This is the fluid power delivered. A real pump has losses, so input shaft power = hydraulic power ÷ overall efficiency (typically 0.80–0.92).
