Frequently asked questions
Why add expenses to the target?
Your rate has to cover both your take-home pay and business costs (software, equipment, insurance), so they are added together before dividing by billable hours.
What are billable hours?
Hours you can actually charge clients for. Admin, marketing, and breaks are usually not billable, so most freelancers bill fewer hours than they work.
