Frequently asked questions
How is the electricity cost calculated?
Cost = (watts × hours ÷ 1000) × rate. A 1500 W heater for 3 h/day at a rate of 0.15 costs 1500 × 3 ÷ 1000 × 0.15 = 0.675 per day.
Where do I find my electricity rate?
Check your bill — it is the unit rate or tariff per kWh in your local currency, often around 0.10–0.40.
Can I use any currency?
Yes. The tool is currency-agnostic — enter the rate as a plain number and the costs are returned in the same currency.
