Where did the toolbar go?
Distraction-free mode hides the formatting toolbar on purpose; type Markdown directly, and use the Preview tab to verify.

Yes. Toggle the Preview tab at any time to see the rendered result, then switch back to writing.
Is my writing saved?
Your text persists in the URL for the session and is never uploaded.
